Joining the WCC

Who is welcome in the WCC?

1. Witchcamps that embrace the guidelines of what defines a Reclaiming Camp.  At this time each Camp may send up to two representatives. It is suggested that Camps send a currently active member of their organizing team and a teacher who has taught at said Camp and is committed to that particular Camp's communities. However it is recognized that for many Camps these roles no longer have clear boundaries and representatives should be chosen who are active and committed to the ongoing work of the Camp and its community.

2. Guilds may send one representative from a group and/or Guild representing 5 or more people who consider themselves essential to Witchcamp community and culture, and that embrace the guidelines of what defines a Witchcamp Guild.

While participation in WCC is not required to be a Reclaiming Witchcamp, we strongly encourage all Reclaiming camps to participate in the Witchcamp Council as a vital way of supporting and connecting with the web of Witchcamps".

(Minimum Requirements for WitchCamps and Guilds are available from the links at the right of this page.)

A New Camp Joining the WCC

Any new camp that wishes to be considered a Reclaiming Witchcamp and that wishes to affiliate themselves with the larger Web needs to communicate that desire by writing a letter of interest (E-mail or hard mail is good.) and submitting it to the WCC Outreach Cell contact Paul  at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

That written communication needs to express:

1) that the camp intends to be an on-going event
2) how they see the Camp fulfilling a community need
3) that they fulfill the first three requirements of a Reclaiming Witchcamp.

After the written proposal is presented to the Witchcamp Council and the WCC reaches consensus to acknowledge the new Camp, the WCC Outreach Cell will appoint a "Grace" to the new Camp.

Said Grace will:
1) Orient new Camp to the WCC process
2) Explain the WCC expectations, guidelines and time lines.
3) Grace will maintain contact with Camp until such time as the Camp selects WCC reps..
